… a first interim report.
Since June 3rd this website is online. For all those who have visited us regularly online, it was easy to see that ROSA’s online presence is growing and we are trying to incorporate the many great feedback. Thank you for that!
What ROSA has achieved behind the scenes in recent months, we would like to tell you very soon with a detailed newsletter. By means of appropriate mail, the registration for:
.
In advance, we would like to report something about the Tour de ROSA, with which we draw attention to the urgency of safe places for women* on the run, present our project idea, Members advertisement and to Support Want to motivate.
On the Tour de ROSA sLet’s talk about the practical experiences that led to the Rolling Safespace. We would like to inform about the gender and gender-specific diversity of causes of displacement and call for action against this injustice!
At various events, we now present the idea, explain and justify details of the project and look forward to constructive feedback as well as the stimulating discourses in an open discussion after our input.
We want to intensify the networking with local, supra-regional, global actors who are active in this area in order to learn from each other and to be able to use synergies in the medium to long term.
In recent weeks we have visited a few first venues and started to introduce ROSA in both online and face-to-face events. In the following we want to tell you about the events that took place.
Climate Camp Stuttgart (24.07.2021)
Because climate change is increasingly becoming the cause of displacement, ROSA feels very attached to the climate justice movement. That’s why we were very happy to be on the Stuttgart Climate Camp to be able to present.

Directly after the Seebrücke Stuttgart When we had given an extensive lecture on the subject of “escape and climate”, we were able to shed light on the connection between gender, climate and flight – partly on the basis of the same infographics. Because even if people are forced to leave their homes because of climate change, women* are the ones who are often the most affected and the first. This is due, for example, to a lack of equal rights and social recognition of women* in the respective countries. Women*, especially in the Global South, are also often responsible for water supply and food cultivation, so that drought, heat and flooding directly complicate their daily work.
After the lecture we were able to have exciting conversations, the Psychologists for Future Known with the Sea bridge Plans forged and can win further donations and club members! Thank you for the invitation and the great organization of the camp!
Summer School – Charité University Medicine Berlin & IPPNW Germany (28.07.2021)
The IPPNW is a medical peace association founded in the Cold War and has since received two Nobel Peace Prizes. For 10 years, the German section of the IPPNW together with the Berlin Charity one of the following: Global Health Summer School, which is attended by international students and brings high-ranking lecturers to the timetable. All the more gratifying was the news that a ROSA founding member was accepted for this year’s Summer School and was subsequently asked to hold the Participant workshop. The topic of the Summer School 2021 was “Climate Crisis, Violent Conflict and Health” – so the topic of the workshop was clear: What do women’s rights have to do with climate justice? Why does one not work without the other? Are we aware that those who promote both climate change and violent conflicts the least are the ones who suffer the most and are the least involved in decision-making when it comes to responding to them?
The second half of the workshop focused on the project presentation of the Rolling Safespace. Of course, ROSA is first and foremost another symptom control – but it is also a call for political action.
Overall, this summer school was very valuable for the project. For example, due to the fact that a doctor was present, who had been working for a NGO we already know for several months.Medical Volunteers International) works as a Medical Coordinator in Athens. Another medical student just came back from Samos, where she spent several weeks for Med’EqualiTeam had worked. Many others were interested and asked critical questions that stimulated both the ROSA member and the newly acquired members to fruitful discussions and thoughts. The conclusion was, in short:
There is a great need for this rolling safespace. The idea is thoughtful, realistic and will work. We should not allow ourselves to be stopped by people who consider us megalomaniac!
Thank you for this wonderful exchange!
Cultural land party

We only became aware relatively late on the happy news that the resistance, political and cultural event in Wendland, the Cultural land party (KLP) takes place this year.
For this reason, we were not able to place ROSA as visibly on the KLP as we would have liked, but we did not want to leave it untried to be present in the relevant places.
Gasthof Meuchefitz (01.08. – 08.08.2021)
The motto under which the program of Gasthofes Meuchefitz This year’s KLP was more than suitable (see right, flyer of the inn), and so we were thankfully invited to set up our information stand on the grounds of the inn.

We have complied with this, packed stickers, ROSA banners, project sketches and membership applications and set up our information stand on the grounds of the inn.
Informed on Saturday evening No Border Kitchen Lesbos about their work and experiences, having had some very enriching conversations with the listeners of this talk as well as with No Border Kitchen They had themselves.
Over the days we have been able to show many interested people the need for a Safer Space for women* and win them for the project idea and vision of ROSA, and got rid of many stickers.
Overall, we learned that it requires more than 1 – 2 people for effective work at the info stand. Especially if the information is distributed over several days exclusively via the information stand and there is no workshop or lecture.
Kulturverein Raum2 e.V. in Neu Tramm (3 August 2021)

Spontaneous in our time on the KLP in the Wendland Kulturverein Raum2 e.V. travelled to Neu Tramm to inquire if we could set up an information stand here as well.
Fortunately, two days after our personal request in Room 2 host an evening lecture with subsequent discussion on the outdoor stage!
Despite the short-term nature of the event, approx. 25 interested people joined the lecture and enriched the evening with good questions and exciting discussions. The event resulted in a large number of networks from which we are only just beginning to draw.
At this point, the thanks also go to the crew of the Room 2, their spontaneity and motivation as well as the promotion of the program on their website!
Summary
So far, the Tour de ROSA has delivered on its promises: The project idea is put to the test, it is refined and it slowly spreads from network to network. Above all, it also gives us energy through all the positive feedback and the new possibilities and ideas that result from it.
The Tour de ROSA is not over yet: Next Dates Among other things, Climate Camp Leipziger Land. Please come and meet us!
Furthermore, we are always looking for places where we can talk about the gender-specific causes of flight and about ROSA. If you have such a place, write to us and invite us with an e-mail info@rolling-safespace.org one.
